Merry Christmas to you! What's the best gift you can receive for Christmas? Expensive presents? Snow? Or maybe seeing your family, friends and children happy?
Christmas is so much more than a commercial celebration, although we all know that it has been altered into that. Christmas is a celebration of the beginning of a new hope, the birth of Jesus. It is also a celebration of life.
So it's not only a great time to consider what you really want from life but also to celebrate what you already have. Family? Friends? Health? Love? All of these are important to who you are. Your associates, focus, and habits will shape you and mold you. They can advance you...or sidetrack you.
Each of your connections are essentially a miracle--a combination of circumstances, coincidence, and acceptance--and those miracles should be celebrated. Take time to embrace those connections. It's also a good time to take a step back during this holiday season and give yourself a gift, one that is uniquely suited to you: the gift of introspection. To accept who you are, who you were, and who you will be.
It's even worth reading, or watching, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. In it, Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and they inspire him to be more than the sad, lonely man that he is--a form of redemption and renewal. And that is the miracle of Christmas.
My challenge for you this week: Take an inventory of your personal gifts.
What are your greatest gifts-talents, skills, or characteristics?
How do you nurture and further develop these gifts?
In 2017, how can you use these gifts to improve your life-career, business, relationships, financial status?
When you use this festive season to inventory your gifts, you will be inspired in the upcoming year to become much more than what you already are!
