Strive to Be Complete!

In each of my posts, books, and personal appearances, I talk about many different subjects: spirituality, health, wealth, physical fitness, mental attitude, and success. Some people can find this a little confusing because we now live in such a specialized world where people are looking to find one quick fix for whatever they feel is wrong in their lives.

  • Need more energy? Chug this drink.

  • Want success? Follow this plan.

  • Need more money? Join this program.

  • Want to be healthy? Eat this just discovered super-food (although, they never tell you that it has only been growing for thousands of years).

People, it doesn't work like that. You cannot focus on just one single part of your life and think you are going to find the right answers. That is why I cover so many aspects of living.

Everything in this world is connected somehow. Everything in your body is connected and everything in your life is connected. Nothing stands alone. What affects your body, affects your mind. What affects your mind, affects your emotions. What affects your emotions can, and will, affect your entire world.

Have you ever been heart-sick, so sad that it made you physically ill? Your stomach would just knot up and you would have trouble breathing.

Have you ever been feeling so physically bad that it made you ill with the world? You know, the mood where someone just saying "good morning" was enough to piss you off. So bad that you probably even responded, "What's so good about it?"

I'm willing to bet you that on those days, nothing went right for you and that everything you touched turned to crap. That is because your attitude was poisoning your spirit and your entire world.

Do you want to find out how successful you can truly be in any part of your life? You have to develop your entire being. You have to become a complete person, strong in every aspect of your life: mentally, physically, spiritually, financially, and relationally. You can't leave any part lying by the wayside.

Have you been working your tail off trying to get ahead or trying to overcome something in your life but you just couldn't find success? Ask yourself what part of the puzzle you are missing. Having trouble concentrating or thinking clearly? Maybe you need some exercise or to eat better. Feeling poorly despite your best efforts? Maybe you need some time on your knees.

My challenge for you this week:

Take a few moments today to consider the following areas of your life: Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Relational. Now answer the following questions:

  1. Which areas of your life do you daily consciously work to develop?

  2. Which areas of your life are you neglecting?

  3. For those neglected areas, how can you make time for improvement?

  4. How will you benefit from taking action?

  5. Take the action-Do it!

Have you found the missing pieces? Once you do, you'll make yourself a whole and complete person, and when you strive to be complete, you will be able to overcome anything life may have in store!
